PREMYOM Project PREMYOM is an ambitious 5-year project of biomedical innovation for the benefit of young people and eye health. Lead partner EssilorLuxottica is collaborating with renowned French partners to bring personalized therapeutic treatment of myopia into reality. The project, co-financed by the France 2030 national plan, aims to prevent the myopia epidemic. Position: Optical Instrumentation Research Engineer The Optical Instrumentation Research Engineer will join the Scientific Department, responsible for delivering innovations in optical instrumentation for eye care professionals. The role includes optical developments, design, simulations, and verification of critical functions with clinical trials in mind. Technical Skills Demonstrated expert proficiency in computer-aided optical simulation and design. Experience in instrument design for biological and/or medical imaging. Strong experience in research instrumentation in the private (R&D) or public sector. Proficiency in scientific programming with modern structured languages. Experience with regulatory framework of medical devices and digital electronics. Notions in mechanical design and CAD software. Skills and Interests Interest in novel optical technology and research. Committed to making a difference in public health. Interest in attending scientific conferences and workshops regularly. Ability to delegate and control the execution of technical tasks. Education or work experience in an international setting. Background Majored in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent with ideally 8 years of experience in Optical Engineering/Instrumentation and a PhD strongly preferred. Day-to-day Interaction You will interact with colleagues from various departments within EssilorLuxottica and external partners such as engineering consultancy firms, medical doctors, and equipment suppliers.
