Field Service Engineer

Working with us means working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations.Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow.Due to internal promotion, we are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team to maintain and service the company's rental fleet assets, providing a professional, competent and prompt service to all of our customers. We have a varied product portfolio and service range, including but not limited to compressed air and power generation equipment.What your day will look like:Carry out work according to service schedules, conduct test procedures and record information; highlight any service issues on site that may affect equipment performance safety and reliability.Effectively diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on a varied range of compressed air equipment and associated products.Conduct fault-finding assessments and elimination processes.Understand, interpret and follow drawings and diagrams.Induct customers as required in the safe operations and use of the delivered equipment. Undertake informal training courses for customers when commissioning or setting up equipment at the site.Request spare parts for maintenance and servicing.Identify correct manuals, select relevant spares, and follow correct documentation procedures.Assist Managers with client technical support.Complete concise reports, and when required, participate in discussions/meetings with customers.Participate in call-out rota, answering telephone calls 24/7 when required and attending field call-outs as necessary.Maintain test instruments to ensure they remain in good condition. Check calibration prior to use, follow correct operating instructions, and indicate when repair or recalibration is due.Offshore working when required.What experience you will need:Worked within a service environment/branch and have a proven track record with regard to product knowledge and professional interpersonal skills.Fault finding and diagnosis skills, and the ability to complete concise and accurate situation reports.Competent with electrical wiring and air diagrams & drawings, tracing faults through a structured elimination process.Knowledge of international electronic systems, air systems, their symbols, diagrams and colour codings/markings.Skilled in electrical fitting to modify, mount and connect electrical components.An understanding of Atlas Copco products (PTS, PNS, XRVS, gensets, etc) and/or knowledge of diesel-driven air compressors and associated equipment, are desirable but not essential.Formal recognised time served apprenticeship or relevant work experience or City & Guilds / BTEC equivalent or industry relevant qualifications.Full Clean Driving License.This is a field-based position covering the UK.Applicants must have the appropriate right to work in the UK.What you can expect of us:A supportive working environment, within a collaborative team.Training from day one, with at least 40 hours of training offered per year.An excellent benefits package – including a desirable pension scheme.A satisfying career – we are passionate about the development & progression of our employees and have high targets and objectives regarding equal opportunities and the promotion of females within our business.About us:Atlas Copco Rental Europe is part of the Atlas Copco Group, specializing in the rental of temporary compressed air, nitrogen, power and steam solutions for industrial customers in Europe.
