To advance space exploration, we work with space agencies and private companies and provide them bio-farming units to grow efficiently food for astronaut and/or conduct research on impact of microgravity on plant molecular composition.ABOUT THE ROLEAs HVAC Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced HVAC systems that provide precise climate control of our BioPods and BioFarming solution. This role involves working on product development with stringent requirements, a high degree of accuracy in psychometrics control, temperature, humidity, and air quality regulation (such as phytotrons, clean rooms, laboratories and data centers).Your creativity and relentless commitment to quality will be expected to analyze, create and maintain HVAC systems for all our product line. We are seeking a self-driven and organized individual to determine requirements, design cooling, piping and ductwork systems and controls, manage projects, and collaborate with other teams to provide the best HVAC solutions. Climate monitoring and controlled-environment has no mystery for you. On Earth and in Space.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop high precision climate control HVAC systems tailored for specialized environmentsSelect appropriate HVAC equipment and technologies to meet specific climate control requirementsCreate detailed P&ID, HVAC 3D models, and specifications for HVAC installations, based on initial product requirementsUse fluid dynamic, thermodynamic, and heat transfer scientific knowledge to design efficient systemsCollaborate with engineering team to design and integrate HVAC systems and piping layouts Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standardsCoordinate with contractors, technicians, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless project executionConduct system testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and reliabilityProvide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve HVAC-related issues in controlled environmentsDevelop and document standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guidesEnsure all HVAC systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelinesStay updated on the latest developments and best practices in sustainable advanced HVAC technology and precision climate controlPROFILEBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related fieldProfessional certification (e.g., PE, LEED, or HVAC-specific certifications) is a plus5+ years of professional experience in HVAC engineering with a focus on precision climate controlProven experience in Controlled-Environment Agriculture, Precision Agriculture, Clean Rooms, Laboratories, or Data CentersStrong understanding of psychometrics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principlesKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO)PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEPolyvalent spirit and ability to switch from design to hands-on phasesDemonstrated experience designing high quality HVAC systems for high reliability applicationsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong project management and organizational abilitiesAbility to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphereLOCATIONParis Area (France)Interstellar Lab is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
