Our differences are our strengths and our common language is food.At GOURMEY, you will report to Marion Gaff, Team Lead of Food Science and Analytical Chemistry, and will join a team of 4 gourmates.What will you be responsible for?Sample preparation development and optimization: You'll be involved in developing and optimizing sample preparation methods for lipid extraction from spent media and in creating standardized protocols for the lipidomic workflow.LC-HRMS method development and validation: You'll assist in setting up and validating targeted and untargeted analytical LC-MS methods with an Orbitrap Exploris 480 MS to conduct comprehensive lipidomics analyses on fresh and spent media during cell culture.Instrumentation and stock management: You'll be responsible for managing and maintaining lab equipment, ensuring calibration and performance reliability. Additionally, you'll oversee laboratory supplies and materials, including inventory tracking, ordering, and ensuring adequate stock levels to support ongoing research and development activities.Data acquisition, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific monitoring: You'll ensure consistency in sample preparation, data gathering, analysis, and interpretation to draw robust conclusions. Staying updated on the latest scientific literature, techniques, and technologies in the field of analytical chemistry will also be part of your responsibilities.Documenting Experiments Electronically: You'll maintain detailed records of sample preparation, method development, and relevant measurable data, including lipidomic analysis results. You'll propose hypotheses to elucidate findings and outline subsequent steps for testing these hypotheses. Effective communication of findings during weekly meetings will be crucial to drive cell-culture media formulation.What about you?Currently enrolled in an M.Sc. degree or last year engineering school in analytical chemistry, molecular biology, or food science.Ready to embark on a minimum 6-month internship with us.Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry principles including liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and high resolution.Proficiency in using analytical software such as Xcalibur, TraceFinder, Compound Discoverer, and Proteome Discoverer is a significant plus.Basic knowledge of cell culture is a plus.Comfortable using online collaborative tools (Google Docs / Slack / Electronic laboratory notebook / Zoom, Notion, etc.).Passionate about GOURMEY’s mission to bring to market delicious and sustainable foods through innovation.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
