For our own projects, we are looking for: AUTOMATION SPECIALIST Ref code: CR_2405-100_Automation Specialist Job summary MISSION: As an Automation Specialist at KONGSBERG, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Hull Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) specifically tailored for the oil and gas industry. You will ensure that automation systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with industry standards, contributing to the safety and performance of offshore and onshore operations. TASKS: System Design and Implementation: Develop and design automation solutions for Hull ICSS in oil and gas applications. Implement and integrate control and safety systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards. Work closely with project teams to define system specifications and deliver effective automation solutions. Programming and Configuration: Program and configure PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and other automation components. Develop custom control logic to optimize system performance and ensure safety. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of automation systems to verify functionality and reliability. Maintenance and Support: Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on automation systems to ensure uninterrupted operation. Provide technical support and training to operators, engineers, and other stakeholders. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation hardware and software. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines. Keep detailed records of system configurations, modifications, and performance issues. Generate reports on system performance metrics and recommend improvements. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all automation systems comply with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies. Implement and adhere to best practices for cybersecurity in industrial automation. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation engineering within the oil and gas industry. Proven experience with PLC programming, DCS, SCADA systems, and industrial automation networks. Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram. Consolidated previous experience on KONGSBERG HULL ICSS. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Knowledge of safety systems and standards (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511). This position may require occasional travel to offshore platforms, drilling rigs, and other oil and gas facilities.
