Build your future alongside experienced leaders.Drive your career with management training programs and mentoring.Job DescriptionCustoms Brokerage Manager will develop and manage the customs product in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture. To stay in adherence to the company’s policy, procedures and business code of conduct.Key responsibilities :People:Train, motivate, challenge and mentor other employeesConduct annual reviews for employee retention program – against company and job expectationsCreate personal development plan with each employee. Set up, plan training and follow-upIdentify, develop and mentor your No. 2Ensure all staff and positions have job descriptions, clear expectations and are working with structured development plansEnsure new hires go through the new hire development map within the first 6 monthsConduct regular interviews with potential new personnelReview department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure buy-in and accountabilityOperations:Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customersEnsure all Customs Authorizations are valid – Transit guarantees, customer IPR/OPR/Warehousing authorizationsMonitor duty deferment usage and levelsMonitor license/visa applicationsEnsure all documentation present for archiving purposesMeet with local customs to discuss performance, delays, red-channels, customs developments and plans (to adapt country per country)CustomerMake 5 calls per week – Retention/SalesEnsure all new business is transitioned correctlyReport all calls - sales and retention activities in CRMIssuance of customs proposalFinance:Follow up the customs guarantee for various operationsFollow up refunds with customs authoritiesEnsure every account has a credit limit and check for credit extension when neededDepartment P&L – review, identify, planCompliance:Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.Culture:Proactively promote the company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and Visionary.Systems:Promote productivity tools (e.g. using edoc and edoc treeview, customs database, process management, customs system)Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements with your team.Audit of files in accordance to AEOManagement of customs systemSend client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting)Set the tone of this environment within your team.Audit of files in accordance to AEOManagement of customs systemSend client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting)QualificationsKnowledge:Expeditors company policies and procedures knowledgeA good understanding of Expeditors’ products, services and systemsStrong market and competition knowledgeGood knowledge of customs brokerage process and system essentialGood knowledge of customs legislation, especially with regards to classification, valuation and originUnderstanding of ocean, transcon and air documentation processKnowledge of air, road and ocean transportGood knowledge of incotermsHazardous Materials certification (preferred)Well rounded knowledge of the customs tariff and customs systemWorking knowledge and experience of the customs regulationsSkills:Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.Pro-active, strong organizational skills.The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectivelyThe ability to maintain a privileged relationships with the customs authoritiesBehaviours:Emotional resilienceSelf-reflecting and open to feedbackInitiative and ability to work in autonomyRole model of integrity and pride for all employeesProven leadership attitude and backgroundAdditional InformationExpeditors offers excellent benefits:· 26 Workdays from home per year· Employee Stock Purchase Plan· Personal Development Plans, Coaching and Training Program focusing on developing logistics and supply chain knowledge, leadership skills, preparing for internal promotionand mobility, career change.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Must be eligible to work within the EU.Education and Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of Customs Broker’s experience including a minimum of 1-2 years in a management level #J-18808-Ljbffr
