Operations team is looking to hire a new Data Engineer to join the Data section.At Combo, every decision that is not backed by data is likely to be challenged (when data is available of course). This culture is embraced by the leadership team and actively promoted everywhere. The role of the data team is to make this possible by treating data like a production asset, making it available company-wide.Data team at Combo is responsible for monetizing data assets. We do this in a number of ways such as by enabling better decision making, improving operations and efficiencies, measurably reducing risk, building data products, and more.Data Engineers are the bridge between internal/external data sources and any team looking to make data-driven decisions. To continue this mission, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us and work in the Operations team composed of DE, Analytics Engineers, working as key partner to RevOps and finance team.You will have a significant impact and high visibility across the company. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with all business units, from our acquisition teams (Marketing and Sales) to our growth and retention teams (Product & Customer Success Management).Our StackAt Combo, we have invested in a modern data stack (Redshift, Stitch, Airflow, Looker, Metabase, ThoughtSpot) to support us in our mission. And we are always ready to embrace new technologies that can help us do that better.Here's the Data stack in place today:Extraction/Load: Stitch, Airbyte, Datastream, Fivetran / HightouchStorage: GCP / BigQueryTransformation: DBTBI: Looker / Metabase / ThoughtSpotCollaboration: GithubYour missionsBuilding and maintaining a reliable Data Platform that allows ingesting and making available a wide variety of data.Manage SAAS tools (such as Stitch, Airbyte...)Applying software engineering best practices to allow a growing code base without growing technical debt (version control, testing, refactoring...)Making enlightened technical choices at the company level.Documenting code and process to allow the whole team to share the knowledge.Your profileHard Skills4+ years of experience in Data Engineering.Excellent communication and ability to convey complex topics in a simple way.Strong proficiency in SQL, with extensive experience in data modeling and understanding of data warehousing concepts.Comprehensive knowledge of dbt, including its semantic layer; dbt holds no secrets for you.Comfortable working in a cloud environment, with a preference for GCP, and extensive experience with a cloud data warehouse, preferably BigQuery.Proficiency in a programming or scripting language, with a preference for Python, showcasing the ability to automate tasks and manipulate data efficiently.Good ownership and prioritization of subjects.Background in Math, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative studies.Fluent in English.Prior experience on GCP is a big plus.Soft SkillsA team player.Pro-active.Pragmatic & Hands-on.Problem-solver.Autonomous, organized, and resilient.Reactive in a fast-paced environment and pleasant to work with.Excellent interpersonal and editorial skills, with important listening skills.Passionate and curious: you are constantly on the lookout and like to interact with your peers … you are in a state of perpetual learning; 100% at ease with Salesforce CRM, and other tools like Slack, Google Suite.Our hiring processScreening HR with Thomas, our TAM (30')Management Fit with Marie, our VP Ops (60')Skill Test with Marie and a Software Engineer (60')Meeting with Thomas, our Analytics Engineer (45')Culture Fit Ops. #J-18808-Ljbffr
