Job Title Manager, Engineering & Maintenance - Hotel Central Reservation System Business context Hospitality aims to become the industry leader that delivers modern, innovative solutions to our customers and enables them to run their businesses more efficiently, more profitably and deliver a great experience for their guest. As part of the portfolio, there are 2 Central Reservation Services designed for different customer segments: Amadeus Central Reservation System (ACRS) used by IHG and MGM with more than 6000 properties and soon joined by more high end customers iHotelier is serving small to medium hotel chains, gathering 10000 properties In recent years, Amadeus has prioritized production stability to enhance customer satisfaction. To further improve quality, it is essential to focus on quality from the initial stages of development and ensure stable services in the test environment. This is particularly important during the significant transformation that starts with the implementation of major hotel industry players like Marriott and Accor. In the mid-long term vision, this team will be crucial in ensuring the stability of our applications throughout the release cycle. Effective problem management in test systems is fundamental to success and requires swift and significant improvements. Many aspects of these activities are shared with production support team, including knowledge management, investigation, priority management, reporting, and interaction with component owners. To achieve this goal in Hospitality ACRS, we've created the role of Head of Test Maintenance to oversee all test maintenance activities. The goal is to: decrease backlog volume, improve the quality and maintainability of our codebase, and assist teams in delivering high-quality code on schedule, with a greater emphasis on prevention rather than reaction. Your main responsibilities People management Understand team members’ expectations and support them in expanding their capabilities (knowledge, behavior, communication). Assess individual performance, manage staff training, conduct annual appraisals, and set and review objectives. Cultivate a team that fosters a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge transfer and sharing. Manage local and remote software development engineers to deliver code changes (e.g., PTR fixes) on time, adhering to corporate standards and quality. Ensure timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding company and organization information. Promote a proactive approach to maintenance. Technical Excellence Manage the timely investigation and resolution of test issues and customer inquiries. Deliver regular reports to stakeholders (ACRS Senior Management). Ensure timely and appropriate communication to permanent team members and Maintenance & Engineering managers. Participate in and drive customer-facing meetings. Provide visibility of the team’s activities and achievements. Regularly synchronize with maintenance business owners for proper guidance. Collaboration and Influence Recommend stability improvements to the feature teams. Suggest and implement alternatives, improvements, new techniques, and code refactoring in processes, flows, and operational models. Find synergies with the production maintenance and release management team to improve service quality while minimizing efforts. Component Ownership Be accountable for specific aCRS components, either directly or by delegation. Involve in setting the component vision. Ensure components evolve appropriately, considering NFR/Quality throughout the process. Maintain and track the component servicing backlog (with production maintenance). Ensure systematic monitoring and alerting on new features delivered. Follow up on issues and trigger actions to prevent recurrence of tracked problems. About our ideal candidate Extensive experience in IT, including but not limited to software development, product analysis, quality assurance, project management, or related fields. Experience leading and coordinating teams across sites/geography. Strong skills in influencing and communication. Quality assurance (QA) and process improvement mindset. Ability and willingness to understand both the technical and functional aspects of scope of work. Fluent in English.
