R&D Facilities Director (F/M/X)

Job Description: Segment: Royal Canin Type of contract: permanent Location: RCA - Aimargues To support Royal Canin to become a Health through Nutrition Company, the R&D team has an ambition to step change the longevity and quality of life of cats and dogs by offering personalized, proactive, predictive, and participatory health through nutrition solutions. Centralized R&D is an important element of Royal Canin R&D and the global innovation process. This operating model relies on best-in-class facilities located at Aimargues campus (France) and at Lewisburg (Ohio, US). Royal Canin Facilities are a critical element of R&D supporting the innovation process, product development and deployment activities globally, delivering animal tests, product prototypes and data for products and solutions being developed by Royal Canin R&D. What are we looking for? Degree in Food Science and/ processing, Engineering, Veterinary, Natural Sciences Minimum 10 years’ experience including 5 years of site management ideally in R&D Fluent in English What will be your key responsibilities? Be a Royal Canin R&D leader (part of the R&D Leadership Team). Contribute to define the innovation plan as a member of this team. Define the Royal Canin Facilities strategy: Drive collaboration with Mars Petcare Ecosystem to integrate RC view in global capacities. Influence Waltham and Mars Petcare teams to integrate Royal Canin needs in the global Petcenter strategy. Identify solutions to perform animal evaluation for product globally in line with Mars Standards. Define Master plan for R&D facilities to anticipate 2030 needs. Assess gaps between future needs and current capabilities & capacities and design solutions to close these gaps. Be responsible for R&D CAB request and allocation. Lead Petcenters activities. Lead Pilot Plant activities. Ensure Facilities performances meet targets in safety, efficiency, environment, compliance with regulation and Mars internal standards, welfare, sustainability, and associate engagement & wellbeing. Define way of operating between Royal Canin R&D sites. People Management: Lead the Facilities Leadership Team. Define organization, objectives and monitor performance. Recruit, onboard, develop and engage Facilities Leadership Team and more widely Facilities Associates. Build robust Talent pipeline and succession plans. Define way of operating within the team.
