Masae Analytics is a fast-growing start-up company providing consulting services based on data analytics.We develop innovative methodologies leveraging a wide array of technologies such as remote sensing and satellite imagery processing, geo-mapping, web development, econometrics, machine learning, big data processing, etc.We apply those skills to topics as diverse as climate change monitoring, post-conflict damage assessments, telecom and energy planning, geopolitics, foreign-influence and disinformation detection, geo-marketing, digital divide and mobile financial services.Together with our sister company Altai Consulting (www.altaiconsulting.com) , Masae Analytics works for both public sector (the United Nations, the World Bank, the GSMA, etc.) and corporate actors (retailers, mobile network operators**, satellite operators,**etc.) in Europe and (mainly) in emerging markets, particularly Africa and the Middle-East.We are currently expanding our team of Data Scientists, and are looking for candidates eager to meet challenges and discover new culture and environments.Key aspects of the Data Scientist mission will be to:- Understand clients’ needs- Conduct statistical and business analytics- Design and implement new approaches to answer clients’ needs- Produce analytical reports and presentations- Contribute to the development and optimization of Masae’s tools and processesGeneral requirements:- Curiosity, flexibility, attention to details and strong work ethics- Sensitivity to data security and confidentiality- Eagerness to travel and to discover new cultures & environments- Interest in international development/cooperation issuesTechnical requirements:- Knowledge of Python Data Science environments (IPython/Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, etc.)Nice to have:- Knowledge of SQL and of its open-source implementations (Postgres, MySQL, SQLite)- Knowledge of geographic analysis tools (PostGIS, QGIS) and of its Python libraries- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing tools and Python libraries- Knowledge of NoSQL (MongoDB) or Hadoop / Apache Spark or tools like Splunk or Elastic Search- Comfortable with big data manipulation and parallel computing- Knowledge of Unix shell (OS X / Linux)Providing data science capabilities to help NGOs and international cooperation agencies build their programmes and measure their impactThe mission of this structure is to help companies and citizens improve their environmental and social impact. For example, CSR consulting, training, raising awareness of transition issues, media, etc. Masae Analytics did not yet communicate its impact measurement.
