PhD position in chemical biology

Available from: September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2020The École normale supérieure (ENS) is an elite higher education institution for advanced undergraduate and graduate studies, and a prestigious French research center in the heart of Paris (http://www.ens.fr/).The laboratory of biophysical chemistry at the department of chemistry is recruiting a graduate student to work on the development of chemical biology tools to observe biological processes in living cells and organisms.The laboratory of biophysical chemistry gathers expertise in chemical biology, protein engineering, biophysics, synthetic and analytical chemistry with a broad interest in the development of techniques to image and control biological systems.Responsibilities:Develop chemical biology tools for observing biological processes.Engage in research related to protein engineering, molecular and cell biology, and biophysical chemistry.Collaborate with team members on various projects.Qualifications:Master of Science in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related fields.Strong interest in the development of methods for the study of biological systems.Expertise in protein engineering, molecular and cell biology, biophysical chemistry, and microscopy is a plus.Self-driven with strong work capacity and enthusiasm for science.Good communication skills.This position, supported by a European Research Council (ERC) consolidator grant awarded to Dr. Arnaud Gautier, is available from September 2017 and is offered on a fixed-term contract of three years.Interested individuals should send a cover letter explaining relevant research experience, curriculum vitae, and contact details of two referees by e-mail to Dr. Arnaud Gautier ([email protected]). #J-18808-Ljbffr
