We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join ABL Group in Paris, France. In this role, you will take charge of managing and supporting a diverse portfolio of consultancy projects, ensuring their successful and timely delivery. What you will be doing.
As our Project Manager, you will manage/undertake a varied range of consultancy projects such as Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) and Owner Engineer (OE) or in the oil and Renewable sectors. This will cover areas such as load-out, transportation and installation of fixed platforms, floating units, wind turbines, subsea structures, foundations, cables, pipelines, and subsea structures, as well as general marine and offshore operations: heavy lift, mooring, anchor handling, dynamic positioning, jack-up and vessel inspection. In addition, you will:
Handle project management communication with clients and reporting management of resources and deliverables.
Carry out technical document reviews including independent spreadsheets and hand calculations, management/technical meetings, and site attendances concerning Owner Engineering and/or Marine Warranty Services requirements.
Ensure that the project is delivered by the agreed project technical standards and current industry codes, client contract requirements, and timely invoicing.
Assist with the preparation of bids in conjunction with the Project Director.
Collaborate with other disciplines and members of the ABL Group regarding operational and specialist matters.
Propose and develop new business initiatives.
Participate in the ABL mentee/mentor development program.
The role is based in Paris (75011) 21, rue de la Fontaine au Roi, France and the applicant shall have the right to work and reside in France. You will be joining an office of 23 dynamic people and strengthening the team of 17 Technical projects managers/engineers.
This role is office-based but flexibility and willingness to travel, as well as readiness for onshore/offshore assignments at short notice locally and globally for periods, would be required as agreed with your line manager. Very exciting missions related to the following offshore installations:
Export cable pulling at the Substation
Subsea Interconnectors cable installation & landfall
Offshore Wind turbine installation (fixed and floating)
Tidal generator
Big Gaz & LNG projects
Harbour construction
As always with the industry, due to the nature of the projects, flexibility in working hours from time to time may be required.
What we are looking for.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, with expertise in technical document review, client communication, and offshore operations. They will also excel in collaboration, business development, and mentoring within a dynamic team environment. In addition, you:
Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
BOSIET or GWO certification.
6+ years of professional experience, including offshore work on construction vessels.
Strong knowledge of industry standards/codes (DNVGL-ST-N001) and MWS work.
Proven expertise in offshore transportation, installation engineering, and loadout methods.
Fluent in English and French, with mandatory offshore/quayside/vessel experience.
Skilled in report writing, prioritizing deadlines, and managing workload.
Detail-oriented, numerically accurate, proactive, and resilient team player.
Desirable Competencies:
Project management experience.
Consultancy services experience preferred.
Skilled in managing project budgets and schedules.
Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
