At PayFit we understand that you can gain applicable skills through a variety of life experiences and we are interested in knowing them, too.About the Role:As an Engineering Manager in the Permissions and Identity team, your mission is to oversee the development process from system design to delivery and monitoring. You will ensure robust security as our product evolves, focusing on authentication (AuthN) and authorization (AuthZ). This role involves strategic product development and architectural challenges across multiple countries. We expect the player to be hands-on.You will lead a Squad of 4 Software Engineers within a larger Software Platform tribe.Key responsibilities:Product Evolution & Security: Collaborate with Product and Design teams to maintain strong product security. Lead roadmap definition and translate plans into actionable tasks.Team Leadership: Guide and support your team members through mentorship and foster a culture of security awareness across PayFit.Architectural Mastery: Develop PayFit's authentication and authorization frameworks using protocols like OAuth, SAML, JWT, and OpenID Connect.Token Lifecycle Management: Manage access and refresh tokens, ensuring security and minimizing risks.Access Control Models: Optimize permissions systems using RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC models.Secure API Endpoints: Implement best practices for securing API endpoints with OAuth scopes and API gateways.Integration with IDPs: Ensure seamless integrations with Identity Providers like Google and Okta.Audit and Logging: Enhance audit trails to support abnormal behavior detection.Cross-functional collaboration: Work with various teams to prioritize security in new features.This Role is for You If:You have proven experience in leading and growing engineering teams, with a focus on empowering team members and fostering a collaborative environment.You still want to be hands-on as a Technical Lead driving the team's delivery from conception to implementation.You possess strong problem-solving skills, balancing business and technical trade-offs effectively.You are skilled with AWS services and have experience with serverless architectures and Infrastructure as Code.You follow best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and CI/CD.It Would Be Great If You Also:Are comfortable with Typescript, Node.js, React, and the overall JavaScript ecosystem.Are passionate about building innovative products used by thousands.Interview process:Initial Discovery Call: A Talent Acquisition representative will assess your qualifications and fit for the role - 30min.Interview with a Product Manager: You will have a conversation with your main stakeholder to further discuss your experience and skills - 45min.Technical Interview with 2 Senior Software Engineers - 60min.System Design Interview with a Staff Engineer - 60min.Interview with your future Manager (Engineering Director of the Tribe) to discuss your understanding of our role and challenges and your potential impact in it - 45min.Background Check (ISO27001 certification): identity, diploma, and past professional experiences will be checked after the offer.What we offer:Flexibility: We believe it is key to produce your best work and to be fulfilled.
