Reservoir Engineer

Location: Pau

Contract: 12-Month Renewable

Project Overview:

The Reservoir Engineer will be focused on enhancing Multiphysics modelling for CO2 injection into saline aquifers and depleted reservoirs. This project integrates flow and geomechanical simulations to optimize CO2 storage processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop reservoir models for CO2 storage sites, incorporating fluid flow simulations for saline aquifers and depleted reservoirs.
  2. Assess and evaluate next-generation reservoir simulation tools for CO2 storage.
  3. Analyse static and dynamic models of CO2 injection, addressing uncertainties in input parameters and their impact on plume propagation.
  4. Calibrate 4D seismic data to align CO2 plume predictions with observed data, ensuring geological consistency.
  5. Estimate long-term plume behavior and assess the impact of storage mechanisms on stability.

Required Skills:

  1. Proficiency in flow simulation tools for porous media, with a focus on multiphase reservoir simulation (experience with Intersect preferred).
  2. Strong problem-solving skills in field development (hydrocarbon or CO2 storage) with an emphasis on uncertainty analysis and experimental design.
  3. In-depth knowledge of reservoir simulations related to geological CO2 storage.
  4. Proficient in French or English for daily communication; reports must be in English.
  5. Familiarity with geomodelling and reservoir simulation tools (SISMAGE-CIG) or similar platforms like Petrel.
