We build scalable, secure blockchain-enabled solutions that supercharge fan experiences using digital assets. $CHZ is the native digital token for the Chiliz sports & entertainment ecosystem currently powering Socios.com and the Chiliz Chain blockchain. Socios.com is a fan engagement and rewards app that allows fans to engage with their favourite teams and clubs through digital assets known as Fan Tokens. THE ROLE Due to the continued growth of Chiliz & Socios.com, we’re now looking to recruit an Engineering Team Lead to join our Tech team. Made of 130 talented individuals, divided into 19 features teams (each composed of 5 to 10 members), you will have the chance to meet great people from across the globe for whom building the best product is the main goal. Responsible for leading a team of enthusiastic and gifted engineers, the chosen individual will be working closely in chapters with other team leaders in an autonomous and empowering environment where everyone’s opinions are valued. Ultimately, this position will be responsible for building our products with quality and great user experience in mind while working with helpful and motivated people that love sharing their successful findings and mistakes along the way. Responsibilities & Duties Manage one of our multi-chapter feature teams to deliver features across our products. Act as a scrum master for the team, leading and managing scrum rituals. Ensure smooth planning of the sprints, unblock team members, and ensure fair play for both business and tech sides of the team and stakeholders. Focus on the wellbeing and performance of the team. Conduct regular 1-to-1s with all team members to build trust and ensure a stable and healthy work environment. Conduct performance reviews and follow probation periods of team members. Care for the human behind each employee and seek continuous personal growth and career progression. Lead and empower people with a servant leadership approach while coaching them to fulfill their duties without impediments. Resolve personal or technical disputes before they escalate into conflicts. Meet stakeholders to understand the “why” of the feature, guiding team members on what is being built. Work with (FE/BE/QA) Tech Leads, Product Owner, and engineers of your team to improve communication and alignment. Promote knowledge sharing within the team. Help maintain a clear product backlog with User Stories following Definition of Ready and Definition of Done rules. Requirements At least 3 years of experience in a similar role or at least 5 years of experience in either Frontend, Backend, or QA senior engineering position with mentoring experience. Understand and have a servant leadership attitude over authoritarian leadership. Good understanding of agile and scrum methodologies. Be a leading figure that people are willing to listen to and follow in a diverse, remote team. Empathy toward colleagues and team members. Very good verbal and written communication skills. Prepared to make tough decisions. Understand when authoritarian leadership is necessary. Basic knowledge of human psychology to understand people better. Outcome-oriented and ensure team performance aligns with this mindset. Organize team-building activities to strengthen team cohesion.
