Intern Trainee - Sovereign & Public Sector Ratings

Scope is looking for a proactive, results-oriented and energetic Trainee to join Scope's Sovereign & Public Sector Team based in Frankfurt /Paris for a minimum of 6 months internship with the possibility for full-time employment thereafter. This role offers the opportunity to learn how a sovereign rating is developed and assisting the team in developing models, ratings and research. The ideal candidate should be an analytical person with a strong interest in economics, politics and financial markets as well as in developing a career in the Sovereign & Public Sector space. Support analysts during the rating process, including drafting of rating reportsDraft research and publications on rating-relevant economic and political developmentsAssist the team in the development and refinement of its methodologies, specifically for sovereigns, sub-sovereigns, supranational and government-related entities Support model development and rating analyses, particularly debt sustainability analysis Contribute to the team’s maintenance of databases and rating modelsStrong analytical, problem-solving, quantitative and drafting skillsGood knowledge of economic concepts and familiarity with balance sheets Good understanding of the European political economy preferred Graduate student (or about to complete studies), at master level or higher in economics or related degreePrevious research/ work experience in economics/ finance/ international relations preferredInterest in developing a career in (public) finance/ economicsStrong motivation for learning practical insights into sovereign credit risk, economic analysis and financial marketsHighly reliable, with rigorous attention to standards and detailAbility to work in a team, but also independently as a self-starter without close supervisionCritical thinking, curiosity and ability to think outside the box under tight deadlinesFluency in English  and German is a must; French a significant plus If this sounds like a journey for you, and you are comfortable working in a target-driven environment, we look forward to learning more about you from your convincing application.
