Chief Scientific Officer (Remote) This is a truly unique opportunity for an experienced Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to join a newly incubated France-based biotech startup. As the CSO, you will be responsible for driving the company's scientific vision and strategy, overseeing early-stage product development, and leading a talented team of researchers. Key Responsibilities: Provide scientific leadership and strategic direction for the company's in vivo, CART, gene therapy, and anti-viral vector programs. Demonstrate technical proficiency in these areas, drawing on over 10 years of relevant experience. Manage the company's research and development efforts, ensuring timely progress in early-stage product development. Secure funding through grant applications, investor pitches, and other fundraising initiatives. Build and maintain a highly collaborative, motivated, and solution-focused team. Define staffing and hiring plans to support the company's growth. Prepare and deliver compelling internal and external presentations on scientific progress, strategies, plans, resources, assumptions, risks, and data. Qualifications: PhD in a relevant scientific field (e.g., molecular biology, bioengineering, immunology). 10+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with a strong track record in early-stage product development. Deep technical expertise in in vivo, CART, gene therapy, and anti-viral vector technologies. Proven ability to secure funding from various sources (e.g., grants, investors). Excellent team management and leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing research teams. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and rapid progress.
