Human by nature.Creation Laboratory Manager – Your future position?As the new Argenteuil Creation Laboratory Manager for Consumer Products Fragrances, you will be in charge of the Creation Lab, with the objective to compound and deliver unique and high quality fragrance samples, in a fast and efficient way, with a best in class service level in terms of quality, timing and safety.In your role you will manage a team of Perfumer Assistants and coordinate the daily Argenteuil Creation Lab operations in order to achieve successful delivery of trial oils and ensure process continuity, according to business objectives and EH&S policies. You will be reporting to the Argenteuil Application and Creation Lab Director.Sounds exciting? This job offers the opportunity to be at the heart of fragrance creation. It could well be your perfect opportunity if you have a true passion for fragrances, operations and people.In this exciting role, your core responsibilities will include:Daily operations management:Maintain an efficient organization, keep adapting the ways of working, and contribute to design best in class processes with a continuous improvement mindset and approach.Manage sample requests and cooperate with the Perfumers in relation to potential changes and modifications.Coordinate and ensure timely delivery of oils to perfumers and to Application laboratories, with a strong focus on quality.Prioritize and solve bottlenecks during sample production process.Monitor the stock of perfumery raw materials in the laboratory, requesting replenishment when necessary.Order Laboratory supplies when needed.Measure & review KPIs for the Lab.Regularly identify issues, root causes, areas for improvement and corrective actions together with your team and your manager.People Management:Supervise, motivate, stimulate a team of Perfumer assistants, plan, organize and optimize their work.Provide training and mentoring to Lab employees.Communication:Act as the main point of contact for Perfumers.Manage stakeholders including communication to Perfumers, Application Lab team leaders and Management.Manage problem solving with suppliers (e.g. Contexa).Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies.Monitor compliance with the EH&S requirements of the supervised employees and understand the hazards and risk in the responsible area.Actively support Lab audits.You?Your profile includes:Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in pouring.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (perfumers, evaluators, application labs, S&T, etc).Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Team spirit, good interpersonal skills.Working successfully with international teams.Analytical skills.A commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in all aspects of work.Diplomacy & humility.Academic Background:Pre-university level (technical diploma) in Technical Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline.Professional Experience:5+ years of experience in perfumery application Lab, production or related area preferred.Preferably 2 years of experience in people management.Very good knowledge of lab equipment and its safe usage.Verbal and written command of English, speaking French on a native level.Technical Skills:Basic understanding of business process / system redesign and manufacturing ERP.Computer skills and proficiency in Givaudan specific software applications (LCMS).Knowledge of SAP.Good understanding of EHS guidelines and safe handling of chemicals.Olfactory ability.At Givaudan, you contribute to delightful taste and scent experiences that touch people’s lives.
