A Research engineer (F/H)
Due date : january 2nd, 2025
_ 18 months temporary contract ( CDD)_
At Paris 13th
The Paris Brain Institute is a private foundation recognized as a public utility, dedicated to fundamental and clinical research on the nervous system. On a single site, over 800 researchers, engineers and doctors covering all neurological disciplines, and a Start Up incubator within the institute, work together to accelerate discoveries about how the brain works, and the development of treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, epilepsy, depression, paraplegia, tetraplegia, etc.
The engineer will be responsible for developing new service offer of the Paris Brain Institute’s electrophysiologcal core facility (ePHYS).
The ePHYS core facility offers a range of services for the functional study and characterization of various preclinical models (primary neuron cultures, brain slices, hIPSC-derived organoids, rodents). Within the scope of scientific projects, our facility plays a crucial role, from experimental design to user training. The facility is equipped with various electrophysiological devices, providing a diverse range of services to research teams (e.g., patch clamp, MEA, CMOS HD-MEA, EEG & EMG). To expand its offerings, we aim to acquire a new system for measuring the activity of large neuronal populations in freely moving murine models using fiber photometry.
