Missions You will join Volta France Legal, Compliance and Data Protection Department (made up of two people (one Legal and Compliance Director/Data Protection Officer and one Property law legal counsel/Deputy Data Protection Officer)). The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for: Drafting and negotiating any kind of contracts (non-disclosure agreements, software licenses with providers, general terms and conditions of license for Volta medical devices, consultancy agreements with physicians, speaker engagements, grants, congresses and medical and promotional activities) with Volta Medical stakeholders (such as software providers, hospitals, consultants (including physicians), clinical research organizations, etc.) Advising on compliance healthcare issues raised by Volta Medical France or its subsidiary in the USA in particular as they relate to Healthcare Professionals and Healthcare Organizations. Assisting Volta France Compliance Officer in establishing and drafting internal strategies, risk mapping, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to prevent violations of laws, rules, regulations or Medtech code of conduct (including as among others the French law « Encadrement des avantages », «Transparence », « U.S Anti-kick-back status » and « Sunshine Act ») Preparing, editing and maintaining of compliance program related materials Coordinating and tracking policy, training, and other compliance risk management initiatives Making the disclosures to the relevant authorities (CNOM, ARS) and transparency registries (including French, Belgian and U.S. registries (Open Payments) Managing Volta ethics alert line, conducting investigations and making recommendations to Volta compliance director and Volta leadership. From time to time, helping the Legal department team members in charge of data privacy implement the data privacy program and prepare data privacy related materials. The position reports into Volta France Legal/Compliance Director; No direct supervisory responsibilities Profile Master's degree in business law or Life Science law. Good knowledge of Data Privacy laws (GDPR and HIPAA) greatly appreciated. At least 7 years of experience in drafting and negotiating any kind of contracts governed either by French law or some U.S. state laws (preferably Delaware, New York or Californian laws) within life science companies or in a law firm with a strong and recognized expertise in life science. At least three years of experience in France on HCP and HCO-related matters including medical and promotional activities. Soft skills: self-starter, autonomous, intellectually curious, excited by dynamic change, adaptive, high level of professional ethics and integrity, strong interpersonal skills (with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization including the company leadership), excellent written and verbal communication skills. Technical skills: Strong knowledge/practice of: contract/business/compliance laws, rules, regulations, and code of ethics of the industry (especially the French law “encadrement des avantages”, and “Transparence”, the « U.S Anti-kick-back status » and « Sunshine Act », the Medtech Code) Good knowledge of the “Code de la Commande Publique”, “Loi Sapin II” and “Loi Waserman” and other related regulations Strong project management and organizational skills and capability to manage multiple projects at one time Ability to design and organize educational meetings and training programs on compliance issues Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Languages: Fluent in French and English (written and oral) Diversity At Volta Medical, we are convinced that diversity and inclusion are real strengths for the company.
