Requirements

You will report to the CFO and support the company's growth and structuring in all legal matters and in all geographies (FR, US, UK, Japan, Canada…), with a focus on business law. You will reach out to external experts when required.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Commercial: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating our commercial contracts (Non-Disclosure Agreements, Services Agreements (SaaS), Partnership Agreements) in France and internationally;
  • Procurement: Reviewing and negotiating our purchasing contracts in France and internationally;
  • Corporate: Monitoring of the corporate activity of the company in collaboration with our external law firm, governance (Annual General Meeting and other bodies), approval of accounts, record keeping, etc; support on establishing foreign subsidiaries.
  • Data privacy and Compliance: you will ensure compliance with the data privacy applicable laws legislation and monitor regulatory developments in this area.

You will also deal with various legal issues, typically:

  • Employment: review of employment agreements, subcontractor agreements and any other eventual issues related to employment law in cooperation with the HR team.
  • Intellectual Property: Management of our intellectual property (trademarks, patents, etc in cooperation with our external law firms).

Your working languages will be French and English.

We are looking for an autonomous and rigorous Head of Legal and DPO with a real sense of organization, versatility as well as interpersonal skills that will enable him/her to work as part of a team.

  • You have a higher education degree in business law: Master’s in business law, supplemented if necessary by a business school;
  • You have 7-10 years of experience in a law firm and/or in a multinational company;
  • Ideally, you will have had exposure to the insurance or tech sectors, with experience of SaaS contracts being a big plus;
  • You're keen to work in a young, growing scale-up, and you're able to adapt well to different populations;
  • You enjoy working in a team and know how to combine rigour, interpersonal skills and autonomy;
  • You are fluent in written and spoken French and English; another language (Spanish…) will be an advantage.
  • You are eager to work in a demanding start-up environment!
