What you will do As a Diagnostic Engineer within the Aftermarket Technology – Diagnostic Data Engineering team in Lyon, France, you will investigate complex technical challenges and recommend solution strategies that can be used around the world. You will participate in early design decisions and support strategic decisions affecting our products. As an agile team member, you will manage the complete chain from development to verification and validation of diagnostic content. Your responsibilities include analyzing and gathering product and project information to design new diagnostic strategies with a focus on customer satisfaction and maximizing uptime. You will also assist the team in creating virtual test rigs and design models to automate verification and validation of diagnostic content. Automation is key to our challenges ahead, and any interest in this area is a significant asset. Your future team The Complete Vehicle team is part of Group Trucks Technology, translating customer needs into competitive vehicles in the industry, from vehicle concept development to aftermarket support. The Aftermarket Technology group provides customers with the best possible solutions supporting their aftermarket business. The Diagnostic Data Engineering function innovates, develops, maintains, and delivers Diagnostic Service Based Solutions for Volvo products in the aftermarket. Our diagnostic team consists of highly competent and engaged colleagues working in project coordination, requirements, diagnostic methods, tests and calibrations, and diagnostic strategies to support workshop technicians globally. Who are you? You are detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and motivated, with experience in managing technical projects. You are customer-oriented with excellent networking skills. Electrical Engineer Automotive system knowledge (ECU, Sensors, Software) and technical mindset Programming skills (Python, Java, C++, etc.) Hands-on experience in CAN Protocol Ability to read and write electrical diagrams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Product ownership and customer mindset Can-do attitude and mentality Fluent in English Desirable Skills Understanding of embedded software and cross-functional/system specifications Capacity to understand customer expectations regarding diagnostics and software deployment Experience with heavy-duty product development, vehicle repair, diagnostics, and maintenance Experience in working with international/inter-cultural teams What’s in it for you?
