Human by nature. Givaudan is recruiting an Agronomist specialized in Plant Production (CDI). Position: The Agronomy department’s main mission is to secure and optimize the sourcing of natural ingredients from botanicals. As an Agronomist, your responsibilities will include: Management of value chain projects: Techno-economic evaluation of value chains through literature research and field investigation. Development of project proposals, including deliverables, action plans, and budgets. Implementation of planned activities in collaboration with selected partners and suppliers. Monitoring, analysis, and reporting on project progress. Monitoring of plant production supplies: Monitoring of cultivation contracts with agricultural partners and regular supervision of the season's progress. Organization of harvests in coordination with relevant buyers. Participation in the development of Good Agricultural Practices guides related to the technical itinerary for the botanicals under your supervision. Implementation of quality control procedures to ensure product traceability. Regular reporting (phone conferences, meetings, written reports) and proposing improvement and optimization strategies for different stages. Promotion of sustainable agricultural practices related to regenerative agriculture principles, such as soil conservation, biodiversity preservation, and responsible resource use. Participation in dedicated project experimentation work in agreement with the referring Agronomist: Identification of relevant partners through the established global network. Definition and implementation of appropriate experimentation protocols based on project needs. Organization of data collection and entry. Participation in result dissemination. To successfully carry out your tasks, you will have direct contact with stakeholders in the agricultural and institutional sectors, as well as with various departments within Givaudan (Purchasing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Industrialization). Profile: Academic background: Agronomy Engineer or Master's degree (Master 2) with specialization in Plant Production. Strong knowledge of agronomy, including plant breeding, technical itinerary, plant physiology, agroecology, and agronomic experimentation. Professional experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in plant production value chains. Knowledge of aromatic, medicinal, and fragrance plants would be a plus. Technical and other skills: Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in a third language (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, etc.) is appreciated. Proficiency in computer tools. Analytical skills: ability to make information out of data; ability to prepare analytical reports; organize and present scientific information in a clear and concise manner Ability to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans in clear, compelling, effective way Ability to animate a group of multidisciplinary and multicultural stakeholders. Proactive, organized, determined, and enthusiastic personality. The position is based in Avignon at the Givaudan France Naturals site. Regular travel within France and the Mediterranean basin (up to 30% of the time) is required. The position is available from June 2024 and is a permanent contract (CDI).
