Field Service Technician

Our client, a capital equipment company, is seeking an experienced and skilled Field Service Technician to join their expanding team in France. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in installing, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting capital equipment machines and software to ensure their optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role is critical in supporting customers through technical excellence and proactive service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Setup: Execute the installation and setup of capital equipment machines and software at customer sites, ensuring adherence to company standards and protocols
  • Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure continuous, reliable operation and minimize downtime
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues, applying technical knowledge to address and rectify complex problems efficiently
  • Customer Support: Provide comprehensive technical support and training to customers, empowering them with the knowledge to operate machines and software effectively
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed service records, reports, and documentation for all field activities, contributing to a structured, measurable reporting system
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in servicing multidisciplinary machines or similar equipment
  • Strong technical expertise with a thorough understanding of hardware, software applications, and their integration in multidisciplinary systems
  • Experience with pneumatics, sensors, RFID technology, and cloud-based systems is highly desirable
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Customer-oriented with a strong service provider mentality and the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and travel extensively as required
  • Proficiency in using office software and ERP systems is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
