Staff Product Designer, Data ObservabilityParis, FranceThe Opportunity:Join our Data Observability team as a Staff Designer where you will be pivotal in empowering developers to deeply understand their data through innovative design. Your primary focus will be enhancing both the functionality and user experience of our products within our Logs Portfolio.Responsibilities:Collaborate with development teams to improve log tracking across various infrastructures, promoting a stable and efficient operational environment.Assist users within Datadog in selecting the optimal logs for their needs, facilitating easier ingestion.Design and refine the user interfaces and experiences to simplify the process of parsing and enriching raw logs into actionable, meaningful data.Develop and implement configurations and rules that improve system visibility and aid in troubleshooting.In this role, you'll partner closely with other designers, Product Management leaders and Engineering leaders, to shape the next generation of Data Observability user experiences. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What You’ll Do:Define, design, and launch department-wide product initiatives that expand Datadog’s Data Observability product impact.Build key partnerships and communicate cross-functionally with engineering and product partners to craft design strategies and product visions.Become an expert advocate for Data Observability product suite’s customers, ensuring their needs drive product design decisions.Collaborate with the product designers within the Product design team to help them tactically deliver and contribute to your larger initiatives.Proactively identify areas of opportunity within the Data Observability suite to create more integrated and intuitive cross-product experiences.Reduce ambiguity by producing new research into our multiple personas and drive new product development from your insights.Educate your team on new tools and design frameworks, and act as a mentor to other designersWho You Are:You are a staff level designer with 10+ years of work experience in web.You consistently raise the bar for yourself and the designers around you.You thrive in complexity and ambiguity, and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process.You are a strong facilitator who collaborates across teams and levels of design, product, and engineering.You excel at communicating and can tell a compelling story to build buy-in to your design strategy.You guide the creation of the new patterns and can evangelize those patterns to scale across an organization.You skillfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve effective and elevated design solutions.You are a strong starter and finisher, able to take products from 0>1.You have experience with advanced modern-day UX/UI tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch).You artfully give and receive feedback, and seek out ways to improve you and your colleagues' ways of workingBonus Points:Familiarity designing for developer tools, data-processing tools or highly complex problem space.You have experience in a SaaS or B2B startup and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Datadog values people from all walks of life.
