WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Lead Satellite Systems Engineer - Space Missions Join an innovative, industry-leading European space technology company with a rich heritage in satellite R&D, MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing), and the development of space equipment. This organization has contributed to major international space missions and partners with globally recognized space agencies. The location for this position is in Budapest. As a Lead Satellite Systems Engineer, you will work at the forefront of space exploration, collaborating across interdisciplinary engineering and management fields to lead the design, integration, and lifecycle management of complex space systems. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture of satellite missions and ensuring the successful development and delivery of cutting-edge space technology. YOUR TASKS Analyzing customer requirements and translating them into detailed system and subsystem requirements. Proposing and developing overall system architectures for satellite missions. Leading or supporting end-to-end satellite programs, including all phases of system development and mission execution. Ensuring all designs and processes comply with ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) or equivalent standards. Overseeing the complete system design, including hardware, software, and operations, ensuring mission objectives are met. Performing project RAMS analyses (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety), including FMEA and Statistical Reliability/Availability Analysis. Ensuring product assurance and the smooth operation of small satellite DMAIT processes. Continuously analyzing and enhancing system efficiency, stability, and scalability. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field. MUST: At least 8 years of experience in satellite systems engineering. MUST: Experience in the end-to-end full life-cycle of satellite system design, integration, and testing. Advantage: Experience with mini satellites (150-400 kg) or in remote sensing domains. Strong knowledge of ECSS or equivalent space standards. Advantage: Experience with ground segment development. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex satellite systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. EXTRA INFORMATION A permanent employment contract in an exciting, dynamic industry.
