In our recent and rapidly growing Belgian office (4 years old, 30 FTE), we focus at present on cybersecurity and systems for Coastal Protection and Mine Counter Measures.The Belgian-Dutch remote mine countermeasure replacement program (rMCM) has been awarded in 2019 to Belgium Naval & Robotics, the consortium made up of Naval Group and Exail. This consortium was chosen by the Belgian and Royal Netherlands navies to supply twelve mine countermeasures vessels and a toolbox composed of around 100 drones.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic technical leader M/F to spearhead a large-scale, high-stakes naval defence project. This role involves leading a consortium of international companies, ensuring the seamless integration of diverse technologies and expertise into a cohesive, high-performing solution. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with an engineering background, capable of bridging the gap between technical excellence and effective collaboration across multiple organizations and countries.You will find among your colleagues the needed help to improve your expertise in that specific field. This job offer is designed to attract candidates who possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and interpersonal skills essential for leading a major international naval defence project.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Oversight:Provide technical leadership and direction across all aspects of the project, ensuring that engineering solutions meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and innovation. Oversee system prototyping, integration, testing, and demonstration processes to ensure successful deployment of the final product.Consortium Leadership:Lead and manage at the technical scale a consortium of international defence companies, ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Foster strong working relationships among consortium members, facilitating open communication and collaboration.Project Management:Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring that the project remains on track and within scope. Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that technical and logistical challenges are promptly addressed.ProfilProfile:You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field). You have experience in the maritime, naval, defence, or a related industry, with a proven track record of leading large, complex projects.You have the following skills and knowledge:Experience working with international teams.Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.Skills in communication and negotiation.Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).Leadership abilities, with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.Diplomatic, with the ability to navigate complex, politically sensitive environments.Willingness to travel internationally as required by the project.Proficiency in English is mandatory.The following skills will be seen as a plus:Knowledge of naval defence systems, including ship design, weapon systems, sensors, and communications.Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.Knowledge of French or Dutch.Join our teams and shape the naval industry of tomorrow!OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESSAfter receiving your CV, one of our recruiters will contact you for a telephone interview if your profile appeals to us.
