An international industrial group (>
15,000 ppl.) listed on the stock exchange, is recruiting its future Global Lead Buyer for semi finished products as part of a replacement.
Missions
The Lead buyer is responsible for the suppliers management, providing semi-finished products to our industrial production lines.
- Managing, from a sourcing standpoint, the Subcontracts and Finished or Semi-Finished products supply, involved in packages offered to our clients
- Supporting Products Lines and Regional Sales & Projects organizations during their preparation of Bids and Project’s teams during the execution of the order awarded by our clients
- Implementing and updating the Sourcing strategies for his/her scope in accordance with the definition made with both internal stakeholders and the defined Sourcing strategy
- Ensuring that these sourcing families are managed effectively and efficiently by challenging internal stakeholders’ needs and by negotiating with suppliers
- Evaluating overall cost & quality; follow and manage Suppliers’ risks, work closely with other Sourcing departments and with stakeholders & legal counsel
- Ensuring savings and Cash improvement targets and KPIs fulfillment on his/her scope and apply Sourcing process and use Sourcing tools (Ivalua / SAP)

- The spend of the category is about 220M€
Main activities
- Manage relationships between our company and the suppliers of his/her scope, including participation in the qualification and assessment of these ones
- Analyze the scope received regarding costumers’ needs (includes critical analysis + suggestions for modifications), as well as the market opportunities on his/her category. Share the information regarding scopes received and participate of the necessary arbitrations
- Proactively manages sourcing categories, effectively identifies and builds global strategies tied to specific commodities. Ensures that these strategies include all corporate spend across multiple entities
- Create and send the RFPs / RFQs to the selected suppliers according to defined criteria
- Receive offers and get the necessary technical analysis, equalization and validation from the technical stakeholders
- Analyze commercial offers
- Build a costing tool to evaluate suppliers offer
- Elaborate negotiation tactics, lead the negotiations with the selected suppliers, according to the defined strategy,
- Elaborate the frame contracts / orders according to the negotiation done; - Make sure the contracts are duly deployed. Execute commercial management of contract aiming at its fulfillment,
- Organize regular management review with suppliers to review their performance and business actions
- Manage relationship with Sales and /or Projects teams /Entity/Regional Area Sourcing Manager:
- Provide to Performance Sourcing Manager the detailed data of his/her Sourcing Contribution (savings / cash improvement)
- Interacts with Sourcing organization to ensure proper reporting and maximize effective use of global contracts
Required experience
- Master degree, ideally in purchasing
- More than 5 years in Purchasing Category Management
- Technical knowledge for the category, ideally metallurgy engineer
- Steel market and Industry knowledge
- Experienced in managing big supplier accounts, ideally from Asia region
- Fluent in english
