DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANYTissium is a mission-driven medical device company founded in 2013, headquartered in Paris, with a production facility in Roncq (near Lille) and an office in Boston. We are dedicated to creating a new era of body repair by leveraging our biopolymer platform to develop new, innovative solutions in surgery for a positive impact on patients' lives. Tissium's technology is based on research and intellectual property from the laboratories of Professor Robert Langer (MIT) and Professor Jeffrey M. Karp (Brigham and Women's Hospital), who co-founded the company with Christophe Bancel (CEO) and Maria Pereira (Chief Innovation Officer).We are developing polymers for atraumatic tissue repair in various applications. Today, these polymers are used for structureless nerve repair, hernia repair and cardiovascular sealing.We have raised a total of 170 million euros since inception. The last fundraising was closed in April 2023 for 50 million. This additional financing gives us a strong cash visibly to finance the commercialization of our first products.RESPONSIBILITIESThe Senior Director Industrialisation – OPEX will support the deployment of Tissium’s industrialisation standards and their execution.The Senior Director of Industrialisation principal duties and responsibilities will include:?Management of industrialisation with ensuring the scale-up phases of production:? Industrialisation of new projects in transversal connection with the Development and CMC teams (being the production path with the Dev, carrying out the transformation of input data into material needs, equipment, reliable manufacturing processes and organization).? Industrialisation on products already in production: According to market forecasts and customer needs, meet the needs of production, in terms of evolution of equipment, installation (utilities, building) with a view to operational excellence (effects on COGS costs, efficiency, lead time, capacity).? Structure the industrial approach with management of the Site Master Plan (SMP) and management of the capacity model (structure to be put in place).? COGS reduction projects (subcontractors, factory).? Project management (extension, technological evolution).? Build, gradually and according to future needs, an industrial - methods - OpEx team.Operational Excellence activities:? Structure an “OPEX” approach with the implementation of a project hopper, allowing to give a depth of reflection and vision (and follow-up of a savings plan).? Deployment of the Lean Manufacturing culture with intro to lean training, implementation of a certification program will be in a second step.? Deployment of VSM process (Value Stream Map) and used the VSM concept tomanage the manufacturing site on short-, medium- and long-term horizons to give always to Tissium Top Management a global vision of what are the priorities to address and shows the global vision of all improvements/progresses made.? Carry out design to lean to reduce the cost of Development.The employee shall apply all regulatory requirements in place at Tissium by applying Tissium Quality Management System documentation.REPORTING LINEThis job will report to the VP Global Operations.YOU WILL LOVE THIS JOB IF You possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and at least one other European Language (preferably French). You have an excellent understanding of the Worldwide regulatory requirements and their implications. You have advanced program management skills, including the ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage a wide variety of projects on time and within budget. You can operate in a multidisciplinary, intercultural and international environment. Coursework or certification in lean manufacturing concepts and tools. YOUR BACKGROUND Engineering Degree or equivalent (PhD or MBA is a plus). A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Operations (including product development and manufacturing) of medical devices. Coursework or certification in lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
