Join the team and take part in creating tomorrow’s energy world!Working in Southern European OriginationAs part of Statkraft´s global Origination unit, the Southern European Origination team builds and manages a portfolio of non-standard, structured transactions in wholesale energy markets in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy with a focus on power and guarantees of origin. Thereby, it cooperates closely with Statkraft’s trading desks and the other regional Origination teams to offer pan-European tailored energy solutions.The responsibilities within Southern European Origination are divided into Origination Iberia, Origination Italy, Origination France as well as its own dedicated Portfolio Management team based in Düsseldorf. While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring, and negotiating of value enhancing new transactions, the Portfolio Management provides the analysis, structuring and pricing platform to all non-standard commodity contracts and manages the entire portfolio exposure in the market across the forward curve until delivery. Origination and Portfolio Management closely collaborate on a “one team – one PnL” philosophy per market.The team has been a first mover and leader in long-term PPAs in Southern Europe and in managing renewable energy risk with more than 130 wind and solar PPAs contracted. In addition, the portfolio consists of tailor-made long-term agreements with large end customers, structured wholesale products as well as standard products.The team holds one of the largest route-to-market renewables portfolio in France and has concluded first long-term PPAs with producers and large consumers in France. The business is planning to significantly grow over the next years and expand into new products such as flex optimization and electrolysis supply.Your role:You will report to the Head of Origination France, be based in Statkraft’s Paris office and work within a team of skilled originators. The key aspects of the role are the end-to-end origination for France, supporting to manage the existing portfolio as well as business development.Your responsibilities will include:Identify, develop, negotiate and execute structured energy transactions with embedded optionality in the French markets with a focus on renewable PPAsContribute to the scaling up of the portfolio of other non-standard power, multi-commodity and guarantees of origin (GoO) contracts in the French marketContribute to the knowledge build-up of market fundamentals/understanding of power and GoOs in FranceDevelop and maintain relationships with large buyers of electricity such as industrials, corporates, suppliers/retailersDevelop and maintain relationships with upstream generators, IPPs, project developers, investors, banks, utilities and merchant tradersWork closely with the other Origination and Portfolio Management team members for new deal origination, structuring and pricing in order to grow and optimize the portfolioManage entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders and take full front-to-end ownership of implementation of new deals and products and contract management over the lifetimeYour profile:University degree in economics, engineering, business, or similar is requiredAt least 3 years of professional work experience in energy markets, preferably previous commercial (front office) experience in the French power marketExperience and familiarity with non-standard power contract terms, ideally with long-term renewable off take agreements / PPAs and master trade agreements, such as EFET, ISDAStrong understanding of and view on European power market fundamentals, interconnections, generation assets, market players and market regulationsStrong team player able to co-operate with members from internal support desks (Operations, Risk, Legal, other Front Office desks) to head the deal lifecycle from initiation to executionStrong commercial mind-set and high level of initiative and motivationFluent in French and excellent communication skills in EnglishA career with Statkraft is a career filled with purpose – meaning that every employee is not just making a living, they are making a real difference to the planet, our communities and the future.
