Senior Controls Engineer

```html This position has responsibility for systems optimization, compliance, personnel safety, and technician skill development relative to plant electrical power and process control systems. This position assumes a leadership role with regard to control systems, equipment specification and maintenance, proper operation, technician development, troubleshooting, and repair to achieve or exceed reliability targets. Key Responsibilities Provides leadership for renewal of and compliance to Plant Electrical Standards, - Electrical Power Safety, OSHA 29 1910.269 and NFPA 70E. Serves as primary administrator and direction setter for plant control systems (FTView, FT Historian, WW, VMware, ACP Thin Manager, PLCs and Motion Controls). Provides coaching for C&IS teams in implementing sustainable systems for plant E&I skill development. Builds and maintains a sustainable process control onboarding system for plant C&IS team, Interns, and Area Leaders, as well as ongoing coaching and development of Process & Packing Engineers and Interns. Owner of the plant Electrical BCP (Business Continuity Planning) recovery effort. Resource to the Plant ESO (Electrical Safety Owner) and Corporate Power Owner on power system standards and technical documentation for these systems. Provides expertise in the design and implementation of process automation applications, such as control strategies, HMI design, MES applications, and KPI development. Works with Plant Engineering, E&I coordinators and technicians to identify losses and develop plans or strategies to eliminate them, in the areas of safety, quality, reliability, and cost. Works with Engineering IS team to maintain and update plant servers, networks, and IS infrastructure for FactoryTalk, Wonderware, and interface with Proficy Historian. Works closely with Engineering and Operations leaders on selection and installation/start-up of new equipment; is the technical expert on new equipment and insures the training of others with regard to control systems. Serves as Lead C&IS Engineer and/or Project Manager for projects ranging from small E&I focus to Major Capital Initiatives. Coach and trainer for the C&IS Capital Project Delivery Process and manages electrical workload planning. Sponsor for Contract Electrical Engineering and Electrical Construction resourcing plans. Selection Criteria Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is required. Experience: At least 5 years of Power and Controls experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Prior electrical engineering experience in the food industry. Previous experience in Project Management and/or Project Delivery is preferred. Other: Strong knowledge of process control hardware, instrumentation, and software including PLC platforms. Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA 29 1910.269. Understands technical systems and terminology. Experience learning and integrating new technologies. Experience leading the installation of equipment in a food manufacturing environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and manage effectively within a team environment. Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term vision. Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision. Experience leading, coaching, and teaching others effectively.
