In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations. This includes managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, developing budgets, and providing financial analysis to support business strategy. You will also lead and develop the finance team, streamline processes, and identify and mitigate financial risks.What will you do?Manage Financial Operations:Manage accounting and financial functions, including month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and spend management.Oversee various company annual audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.Collaborate on the development of accurate budgets and financial plans, providing insights to management and driving improvements in financial outcomes.Support the production of management reports, ensuring relevance and accuracy, while providing sound financial advice to drive business strategy.Resolve day-to-day and complex accounting issues, while identifying key performance metrics and ensuring robust internal controls.Support Treasury management.Stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure compliance with tax laws, government reporting requirements, and accounting standards specific to financing companies.Enforce strong internal controls to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.Identify financial risks and implement controls to mitigate them, including liquidity, market, or operational aspects within a tech financing company.Support Controller/VP of Finance on an as-needed basis.Process Improvement:Build and streamline processes, focusing on automation, efficiency, and the standardization of accounting operations.Develop scalable accounting operations to support rapid growth, ensuring that systems and processes can handle increasing transaction volumes.Manage financial systems including Netsuite.Leadership and Team Management:Oversee, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, ensuring appropriate resource allocation.Work with other departments on new product offerings and non-routine transactions, ensuring financial terms and impacts are well-documented and operationalized.Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Who are you?Service Mindset:Collaborative: Works well across departments, building strong relationships with teams and stakeholders to ensure financial processes align with company needs.Empathetic: Understands the needs of both internal teams and external customers, ensuring financial decisions benefit all parties involved.Integrity-driven: Always seeks to do the right thing, ensuring transparency in financial reporting and acting with honesty in all dealings.Builder Attitude:Proactive: Takes initiative to identify and fix issues in financial systems and processes, without waiting for direction.Solution-oriented: Actively seeks ways to improve workflows, streamline processes, and enhance financial systems through innovation and automation.Growth-focused: Has a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to grow personally and help the business evolve financially.Courageous Spirit:Strong Communicator: Provides and accepts direct feedback, using it as a tool for improvement and being unafraid to address conflicts or financial challenges head-on.Visionary: Thinks big and aligns financial strategies with the company’s bold aspirations, pushing the boundaries of traditional finance functions to support innovation.What skills are we looking for?An accounting qualification from a recognized accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA) with a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience.Experience with data analytics tools and strong Excel skills are essential.Experience in a financial services environment is required.Proficient English skills. As our main business language, it's a must to be comfortable working in the language.US GAAP experience preferred (or at least demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly).Big 4 and/or start-up experience preferred.Experience working with Netsuite is an advantage.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
