As part of its development, we are seeking a remote sensing research engineer to strengthen the innovation department at our headquarters in Nantes. The missions In this role, you will apply your expertise in remote sensing to projects related to land use planning and land cover analysis by leveraging satellite data from various sources and resolutions. You will develop advanced segmentation and detection models using Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques, tailored to the specifics of multispectral and hyperspectral data. Your work will include object detection and change detection, enabling the monitoring of land cover changes and contributing to significant environmental and urban planning projects. As a remote sensing research engineer, your main responsibilities will include: Advanced Image Processing Methods: Apply and optimize techniques for processing optical, multispectral, hyperspectral, and SAR/INSAR satellite images. AI Innovation in Remote Sensing: Design and implement Machine Learning and Deep Learning models for the automated analysis and classification of remote sensing data. Project Management: Lead projects from design to deployment of solutions. Exchange with different group services and clients. Composed of people from different horizons such as astrophysicists, geologists, surveyors, data scientists and developers, we work on various topics: Artificial intelligence Photogrammetry / 3D Modeling Image processing (satellite, aerial, terrestrial) LiDAR point cloud processing Geospatial data production The members of the team develop innovative solutions based on the latest technological advances and well-known frameworks in 2D and 3D data processing (Python, Pytorch/3D, OpenCV, GitLab, MLFlow, ...). The perfect match You have a PhD (or 3 years of experience) in remote sensing, geomatics, or a related field and have knowledge in artificial intelligence and programming. This position requires solid knowledge in the following areas: Expertise in satellite image processing, with deep competence in at least one of the following modalities: optical, multispectral, hyperspectral, SAR/INSAR. Experience in Deep Learning applied to remote sensing, with knowledge of common frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Familiarity with GIS tools and software, as well as Python programming (Rasterio, Pytorch, Numpy, Pandas, Geopandas). Practice with tools: Conda, Git, IDE. Proficiency in technical English and a good level in French.
