Senior Software Application Engineer - Qualcomm, Paris, FranceJob Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Applications EngineeringGeneral Summary:Software Application Engineer role focusing on BSP/HLOS and is the primary communication person with customers for technical topics. The candidate tracks and understands customers' technical requirements/issues along with priorities/schedules and translates them into actions for internal teams. Candidate will need to mobilize the required expertise calling on HW/SW application engineers, testing and development teams. The prime measure of success is the quality and responsiveness of the technical support delivered to the assigned project.An ideal candidate will be coming with strong wireless communication background with BSP/HLOS skill.The successful candidate will get a chance to work on cutting edge wireless technologies from leading device manufacturers to commercialization.ResponsibilitiesGood understanding of embedded systems, microcontroller architectures and Real Time Operating systems concepts.Knowledge of Core BSP techniques like clocks, Interrupts, DDR added advantage.Familiarity with peripheral interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, USB).Strong problem-solving, debugging & analytical skills.Issue reporting and follow-up for resolution.Excellent communication and documentation skills.On-site support towards device manufacturers and/or EU operators.Collaborating with various teams across different QC offices as per the task.Assessing complex technical issues arising from customer product developments.Leading and coordinating engineering resources in resolving complex technical issues.Organizing technical training, design reviews and engineering workshops on behalf of customers.Hosting conference calls and web meetings.Building trusted relationships with customers and Qualcomm internal team.Company:Qualcomm France S.A.R.L.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.Good understanding of embedded systems, microcontroller architectures and Real Time Operating systems concepts.5-7 years' experience with debugging and analysis of wireless communication systems.Preferred Qualifications5-7 years Software Applications Engineering, Wireless Communication systems, or related work experience.4 years of customer interfacing / management experience.Familiar with key players in the wireless industry like device manufacturers, infrastructure vendors, European carriers, etc.Experience with embedded software development, integration & debugging.What's on OfferApart from working in an open, relaxed and collaborative space, you will enjoy:Friendly and collaborative working environment.Salary, stock and performance related bonus.Maternity/Paternity Leave.Employee stock purchase scheme.Matching pension scheme.Education Assistance.Life, Medical, Income and Travel Insurance.Global Wellbeing days.Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
