Trip Leader for Land Tours/River Cruises in France

  • Grand Circle Corporation** is seeking Trip Leaders/Program Directors for land tours and river cruises with Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Cruise Line for the 2024 season

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of around 40 senior American travelers on cruises or a small group of maximum 16 people on land tours
  • Research and share information about locations (cities, villages, regions, monuments, notable figures, traditions and lifestyle etc.)
  • Help our travelers understand the French system (politics, economy, culture, geography, sociology, etc.)
  • Create discovery and learning opportunities during trips
  • Explore off-the-beaten-path locations to showcase everyday life in visited regions
  • Lead guided tours in cities
  • Confirm travel service providers (buses, local guides, restaurants, etc.)
  • Contact travelers by email and phone before the trip
  • Handle problems and medical emergencies for passengers

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in spoken English (100% English work environment: presentations, daily interaction and assistance with travelers, contact with international teams)
  • Passion for France - knowledge of/interest in its history, culture, and unique characteristics
  • Ability to discuss a wide range of societal topics, including sensitive and taboo issues
  • Genuine interest in travel and travelers; group management experience is a plus
  • Empathy and emotional maturity
  • Conversational French
  • Legal right to work in France
  • Self-motivated and quick learner
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, even in emergencies
  • Positive attitude and stress management skills
  • Ability to be both a leader and a team-player
