The hands-on implementation of the day-to-day maintenance on the motorwayTo carry out routine maintenance activities including:Landscaping / grass cutting / weed controlLitter collectionAccident damage repair (e.g., boundary fence repairs, concrete repairs)Cleaning road furniture (e.g., signs, bridges)Traffic managementDriving winter maintenance vehiclesCompleting patrols of the roadGeneral maintenance dutiesKeep accurate records of tasks completedTo provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours’ emergency responses.To undertake all allocated maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.ProfilePERSON SPECIFICATIONQualifications/ Education / TrainingEssential to the role:2nd level educationValid Safe Pass holderValid Category B driving licenceDesirable to the role:Category C driving licenceDE or CE category driving licence(s)Valid Driver CPC cardUp-to-date training/qualifications in Traffic ManagementExperience/ KnowledgeEssential to the role:Relevant experience with a background in construction or farmingExperience in one or more of the routine maintenance activities listed aboveAn understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principlesDesirable to the role:Experience in a similar role maintaining roadsExperience of road constructionExperience of traffic management, particularly on high-speed roadsKnowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices used in performing road maintenance activitiesSkills/AbilitiesEssential to the role:Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a teamGood standard of written and spoken EnglishDesirable to the role:Technology – Ability to navigate mobile devices easily & associated apps/tools for recording of works.Personal AttributesSelf-motivated and enthusiasticGood interpersonal skillsAdaptable and flexible, with a willingness to learn new skillsAdditional RequirementsWillingness to:Provide 24/7 on-call cover on a rostered basisWork outdoorsWork in adverse weather conditionsWork irregular hoursPerform night work as requiredJob Types: Permanent, Full-timeSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayNight shift Licence/Certification:Class B Driving Licence (required)Class C Driving Licence (preferred) Work Location: In personApplication deadline: 12/08/2023Reference ID: Cork - MO Edit job OpenView public job page Job locationEurope, IrelandCity Cork Minimum level of education required1-Under A.
