The opportunity:

As the Global VP Data & AI, you will evangelize & foster the adoption of analytics & AI across the big impact areas of the business value chain, for incremental business value, efficiency and customer experience. You will be the trusted partner and enabler of regions, helping them drive results by resurfacing & sharing local best practices & identifying synergies to drive re-usability of algorithmic assets and high-value business use cases. You will set technological and academia partnerships and always strive to craft the most cutting-edge beauty AI algorithms, putting Sephora at the forefront of customer experience.

You will report to the Global Chief Digital Officer.

You will excel and enjoy this position if you are ready to actively handle the following missions:

  • Very customer-oriented, you will be at the service of regions, partnering with them to help identify high-value business opportunities that can be optimized with Data & AI.
  • Resurface local business use cases best practices & ensure that there is a best-in-class measurement of business impact.
  • Collaboratively define the AI & Data roadmap with regional teams, aligning it with the company’s broader business goals, and identifying synergies to promote the reusability of key components and algorithmic assets.
  • Evangelize the key concepts of data & AI and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure the creation, maintenance, and innovation of a robust catalogue of AI algorithms and govern its direction to foster integration, innovation, and scalability.
  • In collaboration with regional teams, champion effective data governance across the organization.
  • Identify and promote best practices in ethical AI usage and compliance, working with regional teams to foster their adoption.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external technology providers, research institutions, and industry consortia to capture emerging trends in AI and data and continuously strive to craft the best, most sophisticated beauty algorithms.
  • As a champion for AI and data within the organization, enhance awareness of their potential and inspire a data-centric culture.

  • Very customer-oriented, excellent communication and collaboration skills, adept at engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Exceptional business acumen and a strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in AI/ML and data-driven projects and teams, preferably those who have initiated or led similar centers of excellence.
  • Comprehensive understanding of AI and data technologies and applications, with a demonstrated track record of deploying solutions that generate significant business value.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking abilities, capable of leading in a dynamic and rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • 15 years of experience in change management and leadership by influence, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Position based in San Francisco (USA) ideally, could also be based in New York (USA) or Paris (France).
