The University of Aruba is a young university and consists of four faculties: the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Accounting, Finance & Marketing, the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies and the Faculty of Arts and Science. These faculties are supported by the offices & centers, of which one is the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is one of the offices of the University of Aruba with two main responsibilities, namely, student administration and marketing & communication. One of the main tasks of the student administration is the student registration process. Additionally, the OSA is responsible for publishing and showcasing the diverse array of programs and services, such as student activities, campus-wide events, recruitment of potential students, visit local and international high schools, create and design promotional and informative resources, and manage the UA’s social media platforms. We collaborate with the different departments, offices, and faculties, as well as students to develop and implement creative marketing strategies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive colleague for the position of: Marketing & Communication Specialist  (0,7 fte) Tasks and responsibilities As a Marketing & Communication Specialist, your responsibilities span various key areas: Marketing Planning Responsible for crafting comprehensive marketing plans that align with UA’s goals in collaboration with the coordinator. Creating, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns. Marketing and branding Developing and implementing marketing strategies in collaboration with the coordinator. Developing and implementing brand strategies that reflect the company's values and resonate with the target audience. Developing and implementing branding and social media strategy with students’ assistance. You are the in-house designer and you work closely with a webmaster and independent designers. Data analyses from the different social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, IG, and TikTok). Aligning marketing needs with both internal and external clients. Coordinate the social media platforms. Creating and managing content for social media and managing community engagement. PR, internal and external communication, and events Responsible for PR and internal and external communication, serving as the face of UA. Develop PR campaigns and media relations strategies in accordance with the general strategic plan, prepare and distribute press releases, organize PR events (e.g. open days, press conferences) Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. marketing, faculties, O&C), and maintain open communication with senior management. Collaborating with international partners and external stakeholders. Responsible for recruiting prospective customers through activities like school visits and international recruitment, often collaborating with student assistants. Marketing efforts focused on Shared responsibility for traditional marketing efforts, such as radio, newspaper, and TV, working closely with student assistants. Drive impactful email marketing campaigns to effectively reach and engage our diverse audience, ensuring a seamless and personalized communication strategy that resonates with both current and prospective members of the University of Aruba community. Crafting the customer journey for all three pillars. Balancing external and internal marketing initiatives. Job requirements: BSc/BA in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Proficient in the languages English, Dutch, and Papiamento. Spanish is a plus. Communication skills and ability to work under pressure. Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role. Experience with managing media relations (online, broadcast, and print). Proficient in MS Office and social media. Familiarity with project management software and excellent organizational skills. Strong communication ability (oral and written). Creativity, innovative, and problem-solving attitude. Good team player. The position involves a part-time position of 28 hours per week and a salary in accordance with the compensation regulations of the University of Aruba.
