Field Applications Scientist - Paris, FranceOxford Nanopore Technologies is headquartered at the Oxford Science Park outside Oxford, UK, with satellite offices and a commercial presence in many global locations across the US, APAC and Europe.We are looking for a highly driven and motivated individual to join the Applications Support team as a Field Applications Specialist (FAS), to be based in Paris, France. This role will suit someone with a dedication to customer service and happiness. The successful candidate will be working to strengthen the company's relationship with scientists, encouraging them to view ONT as the preferred supplier of solutions for their work.The Details...Reporting to the Associate Director of Field Applications (South Region), this exciting and ambitious role involves collaborating with the sales team to provide a high-quality level of technical expertise, consultancy and representation for Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd.’s products, ensuring the successful application of the products to customers’ research.The role is highly technical and involves providing pre-sales activities, including presentations, seminars and technical calls. Responsibilities include providing specialized expertise to assist with sophisticated and technical customer inquiries and providing technical advice focusing on ONT’s technology and interacting with the Technical Support and Customer Solutions Departments as required.Other responsibilities include:Working closely with the sales team to provide high quality, effective technical expertise to customers and prospective customers.Participating in the organisation and running of seminars, exhibitions and similar “on-site” activities.Handling key customer relationships from a technical perspective to ensure success using Oxford Nanopore products.Providing technical consultations on products and related applications as part of the sales cycle.Tracking, recording and documenting relevant information from all technical enquiries into the CRM.Monitoring the competition and market development and reporting findings.What We're Looking For...A proven background of lab experience with knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and related fields.Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of novel experimental design and appropriate sample preparation methodologies.Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with effective management of priorities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with technical proficiency to discuss experimental design and techniques.Ability to work effectively with internal departments and internationally; proficiency in French is crucial.BSc/MSc in life sciences or equivalent experience; a PhD in life sciences would be desirable.Confident presenter with excellent troubleshooting, writing and editing skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SalesForce or a similar CRM database is ideal.Familiarity with data visualisation and analysis techniques and programming languages such as R, Python (Numpy, Pandas) is advantageous.Frequent travel (up to 60-70%) will be a key part of this role.We offer outstanding benefits including an attractive bonus, generous pension contributions, private healthcare and an excellent starting salary.If you are looking to utilise your skills to really make a difference to humankind, then consider joining our team and apply today!Please note that no terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate on the grounds of a person's gender, marital status, race, religion, colour, age, disability or sexual orientation.
