Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco-based LAN and WiFi technologies to join a long-term project with a leading Global Systems Integrator. This role involves joining the project in its planning phase and seeing it through to completion, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and management of a robust and secure network infrastructure. The client is in the early stages of a comprehensive migration of their LAN and WiFi infrastructure to Cisco. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in designing the network during the initial phase and will oversee the entire migration process to ensure a seamless transition.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement LAN and WiFi networks using Cisco technologies, ensuring optimal performance and security
- Utilize Catalyst Center (previously DNS Center) for network automation and visibility
- Address and resolve WiFi issues, ensuring reliable connectivity for all users
- Plan and oversee network migration and upgrades, including patches and updates for WiFi infrastructure
- Collaborate with the client’s team to integrate legacy LAN systems with the new network design
- Provide detailed documentation and design plans for the network infrastructure
- Work closely with the client’s team, offering flexibility and support as needed to keep the project on track
- Conduct regular reviews and updates with the client to ensure project milestones are met
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Cisco LAN and WiFi technologies
- Knowledge of Catalyst Center for network design and automation
- Experience in designing and troubleshooting WiFi networks
- Ability to create detailed network designs and documentation
- Familiarity with network security best practices
- EU nationality is desirable due to security guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the client’s team
- Flexibility to work 2 days per week on-site in Paris and 3 days remotely
- Availability to start by September 1, 2024 at the latest
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale network projects
- Knowledge of network migration strategies and best practices
- Previous experience with Global Systems Integrators
- Cisco Certifications are a bonus e.G. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNP (Wireless) etc
