Customer Application Laboratory Manager

Consumers experience these unique scents and tastes in fine fragrances and beauty care, detergents, and household goods, as well as beverages, confectionary and food products Belonging to the Scent division, you are responsible in the role of Fragrance Application Laboratory Manager for developing and driving the fragrance application sampling for both IFF internal and external customers. You oversee the daily activities of the Customer Application Laboratory (CAL), in the respect of Quality and deadlines. The position reports to the Technical Operations Director and is based in the Neuilly sur Seine Creative Center. Travels could be scheduled on other IFF sites or with suppliers depending on punctual professional needs. You will also develop and implement new processes, improve performance of existing ones and provide innovating support to the Creative Center application laboratory. This will include process design, gathering and analyzing data, troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes . Your objectives will be to gain efficiency through upgraded processes and cost management. In collaboration with the Technical Operations Director, the CAL Manager is also responsible for developing new capabilities within the Global Operations team to drive sampling innovation and efficiency in line with our strategic objectives to support the business. You will be in charge of the following activities: OPERATIONS & TECHNICAL Manage day to day workflow for Customer Application Laboratory Improve continuously CAL procedures and systems to deliver differentiated IFF’s quality product offering and drive cost efficiency. Roll out Sampling SAP reporting on Neuilly production and provide relevant data analysis and KPI to the local Management. Manage technical projects for IFF Neuilly as new automation ones to plan in the future. Apply technical skills in application processes through the creation projects development. Develop and optimize process strategies to achieve business needs. TALENT MANAGEMENT Manage and inspire a team of 15 persons. Develop a workforce plan for the individual development of Neuilly Application team through recruitment, training and succession planning, in relation with HR team. Optimize team performance through excellent leadership, stretching goal setting and development. LABORATORY MANAGEMENT Be a partner for the business in relation with Sales team and particularly Sales Support. Build network and productive exchanges with local Ops Managers and with other CAL Managers in other Creative Centers to leverage IFF workflows and align IFF Fragrance Operations processes. Manage daily Laboratory supplies respecting cost efficiency and operating budget. Reduce the footprint of Neuilly Sampling in line with IFF’s Sustainability Vision and Strategy and in the respect of Good Laboratory Practices. Required Experience: Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in Management preferably in an international environment. Bachelor degree in Chemistry Application experience in Fragrance industry or in chemical, pharmaceutical or other comparable industry. Detailed business knowledge of sampling systems, processes.
